ELUVIO SAMPLE ; ARRIVAL
[ It smells like metal, an old wood polish he remembers from his childhood, and something else entirely unrecognizable to him. He'd know. He's taking stock. And for all his lessons in blending into the background and keeping himself unnoticed, his own sweat- and blood-stained clothing makes him feel that he's tainting every overly smooth surface that he touches.
Sasuke's not too exhausted to panic but he is too analytical to immediately rebel, keeping his mouth shut and his eyes open throughout the introductory video. He even peacefully accepts the items handed out to him while his head pounds behind an otherwise emotionless exterior, duffle bag swung over his shoulder as he eyes the other equally dazed arrivals.
This isn't a genjutsu and it isn't a dream; he's never seen anything like this place nor does he have the ability to imagine it. It's only when he's herded into the hallway with the rest of them that he dissents, slipping away from the group when he finally does see something familiar. ]
Suigetsu.

suigetsu only replies when they've stopped, so he can give sasuke a very plain look. a "since when have you ever?", complete with a rather goodnatured smirk. as far as reliability goes, he's been second to none — especially in battle.
too bad he barely got to fight at the end of it all.)
Let's just rest for a minute. Then you can start all the fights you want. (lol sasuke starting the fights... right...)

A lot of things can happen in an interval of rest. [ Not to say that Suigetsu's suggestion is wrong or one that his body will allow him to turn down, fingering the dog tags again before gaining them access to the dimly lit room. ]
Seems like the most pressing would be whatever they have planned with the samples they took from us. [ The quarters don't leave too much to be desired, for him, more generous than what he'd had with Orochimaru... and sure enough there are a few items waiting on the bed, a sheathed Kusanagi catching his eye first. ]
Here. Take two of the kunai.

Yeah, but I said I'd take care of it. I don't want them doing creepy experiments with them either...
(a pause in his once-over of the room,) Hm?
(suigetsu is, however, distracted from the kunai before he can even reach them. there's a mini fridge on the fringe of a small kitchenette and his mouth suddenly feels that much drier, beelining for it, fingers digging into the seams to pull it open and yes, yes, yes, lucky!)
I'm taking this—! (scrabbling for a bottle of crystal clear water, twisting the cap off with a sharp exhale of excitement.)
1/2
2/2
Only then does he turn... and allow himself to actually sink down onto the bed, the sensation of a mattress seeming to add a thousand pounds of weight to his shoulders. ]
I know, I heard you before. It's just on my mind.

that was revitalizing. suigetsu lowers his head a little and grabs the next one from the cool shelf, edging the fridge shut a moment later.)
Here. (offering it out to him, making sure it's well within eyesight before he tosses it over.
while he's still thirsty, he can wait — sasuke looks parched and suigetsu knows what that feels like, a bone-deep aching and creaking, dry flesh like blood before its ready to flake, limbs heavier than lead. it's time for him to rest, even if his mind's seeking answers, giving him one long look that holds no judgement of any crime committed except disobeying sleep.)
Remember when you fell asleep sitting up? Maybe not, you were totally out of it. Right after that, Juugo tucked you in. Like he was your babysitter, or something.
(he remembers sitting there, a bit dumbfounded, but falling into the routine watch suggested by the others. that was a long night.)
If you do that again, no one's gonna tuck you in. So you should just lie down yourself, already.

The Uchiha's visual prowess would also be ranked, however, and he catches sight of that tossed bottle like it's moving in slow motion, as simple to pluck from thin air as it would've been if it were still. There's no fight from him when he can acknowledge how much he needs it, index finger and thumb pinching the top in an unsuccessful bid to open it before he's tightening teeth over the cap instead to twist it off. ]
... that was at the inn after my fight with Deidara, before we ran into Itachi and Kisame. [ He sounds as if he's remembering it as he says it, brow furrowed when he pauses to drink down at least half of that bottle. Damn... ]
I didn't know he'd done that, but it sounds like him.
[ If Sasuke's at all bothered by the implication that he won't be pampered -- ha -- then it certainly doesn't show, taking another idle sip to fill the silence. ]
If I rest then it should be brief. I'll count on you to wake me up within the hour.

(hoshigaki kisame... what a nightmare. just hearing the name makes him think of the swords he's missing — along with everything else he needs time to think over. should sasuke sleep, suigetsu will have ample time to do that. recollect himself, straighten this mood out, get rid of all the cotton in his head that's come from a too-real dream he can't stop longing for.)
What time's that weird clock say now? (raising a brow at it, admiring the soft blue glow.) I'll keep an eye on it, I guess. Really just an hour?
(there's a sigh, as suigetsu warms a spot on the floor at the far corner of sasuke's bunk, pulling up a knee to get comfortable. considering the fact that he has no intention on waking the uchiha until he's slept a fraction of the war out of his system, this should do the trick to keep him from moving around too much, and the farthest he'll go is to the ensuite washroom to refill his water in quiet reprieve. and there's something to be said for his motionlessness, eyes settling on the door before drifting to the window blackened by empty space beyond, demonstrating an odd sort of patience.
it's only ever applied in calm circumstances like these, when they've got far too many things to do and next to no plan on how to do them. every other day, it may as well be nonexistent.
a blanketing silence, too, pervades as soon as they finish their discourse on the time, the semantics of waking sasuke when he's sound asleep; he knows all of that already and doesn't give a damn about any of it. suigetsu, while often loyal to his own fault, can betray him just this once and know he'll be nothing more than chastised for it. something that makes him smirk and thumb the cap of his water bottle.)
