Role:

He works an unassuming job that involves long hours at a failing hardware store in order to support himself. Since the manifestation of his powers he’s kept things as quiet as possible, meaning he grew up more or less as a normal human without supernatural interference. For faction choices I would pick the Redbright Institute or the Hillingdon Clan. For the former he could be located by the Outreach Group and become affiliated with the school through the courses offered for older students and better learn to control his powers. For the latter he could start to do some private research with his own powers in mind and discover the supernatural world, going to the Hillingdon Clan first as it’s likely to have a wide assortment of people with large swaths of information and less stringent governing, all things that would appeal to him.

Background:

Sasuke grew up within a wealthy if somewhat distant family, prominent in the community due to their successful international trading business. At the age of eight, however, after having enjoyed a privileged upbringing and attendance at a prestigious school, his parents lost their lives under what were termed “mysterious circumstances”. While their deaths appeared to be natural -- in their shared bed during the night -- and the autopsy was inconclusive in determining foul play, both were young without serious health problems. His older brother and only sibling Itachi went missing and was presumed dead (available for edit if needed) and he was placed in the foster care system.

The loss of his family hardened him overnight and he became withdrawn among his peers, largely unresponsive to them and aimless in his studying. However, while there he met another boy by the name of Naruto Uzumaki (also available for edit if needed) who became a close friend, confidant, and rival, with whom he still maintains occasional contact. He was a major motivating force in Sasuke's life and encouraged his spark for competition, causing him to excel in his classwork and in sports in order to attempt to best him.

His powers first manifested at a very young age but only during puberty did he start learning to control them at will, un-mentored but practicing often. As he is now eighteen he has just recently branched out and gotten a place of his own, trying to make ends meet, explore his powers, and investigate their origin along with the mystery of his parents’ death and brother’s disappearance. So far he's kept out of any major trouble, though his frequent fights with other kids while growing up and his cocky attitude have left him largely isolated from others. For this reason he lives entirely alone and has never had a significant romantic relationship.

Personality:

Unsociable and a loner, Sasuke prioritizes his goals over being liked. He has few material interests and those he does have tend to reflect his spartan lifestyle and practical tastes. Though he doesn’t bond with many people and the process is often long and arduous (due to him speaking his mind, possessing a very competitive nature that can be very off-putting, and being consciously wary of getting attached to others) he does feel very strongly for those he calls his friends, never forgetting them and going to extreme lengths to keep them safe.

At first blush he appears to be a very serious and even cynical young man, overly focused and detached. However, this emotionless exterior often serves to cover up his extremely powerful emotions. Aside from the strong connections he forms (as mentioned above), he has a vicious temper that’s most often provoked by competition, mention of his inadequacies, and discussion of his family. Any of these blow-ups very often turn violent, though he has thus far managed to avoid abusing his powers publicly in order to end a dispute.

He is extremely well-disciplined, partly to overcompensate for his turbulent emotions and partly due to his upbringing within his strict family. To that end he focuses on physical fitness, health, and the expansion of both his mind and the knowledge of his own supernatural abilities. Pushing himself to the point of exhaustion or knowingly and rashly entering into dangerous situations to gain information are not uncommon occurrences.

Powers & Possessions:

Sasuke's powers are designed to resemble those he possesses in his canon, with obvious nerfing to keep things more enjoyable for everyone involved. First is the use of chakra, an invisible power source that he can channel to enhance his physical strength and capabilities. It also allows him to affix himself to various surfaces, though he would have significant difficulty controlling this -- walking up walls for instance would be shaky without more practice, as well as balancing on water. Beyond this he has enhanced eyesight, though maintaining it for any extended period of time also strains his body. It allows him to catch small movements so he can react faster and also has a copying element (allows for copying another person's handwriting and physical action, etc.) and an ability to see through low-level illusions (again, this will need to be developed by him).

Finally he has the potential to harness fire magic and electricity magic, though he can barely manage a spark with the latter due to a lack of training and fireballs are still limited to the size of his fist. It's a work in progress.

Possessions include many lumps of coal and an extremely old and angry cockatiel, mostly.
