AU clarification: Sasuke's previous game was Aefenglom, in which he was present for half a year and learned some valuable lessons about bonding with others and interacting with circumstances utterly removed from his own. Through this he learned to better communicate both his own traumas and his own enjoyments in life, still struggling to let down certain walls but gradually overcoming a complete unwillingness to even try. He also was able to explore what it means to be a teenager removed from constant life and death scenarios or the pressure of representing a famous clan – and all the baggage that comes with it – to everyone he met. All in all he gained a much greater understanding of himself, of his humanity, and of his motivation to protect others.

Disposition: Repressed: In spite of Sasuke's aforementioned CRAU development, he has a long way to go. His repression takes on many forms: it is emotional and mental, conscious and unconscious. As someone quite literally cursed from birth with his family's legacy of incredibly powerful emotions, which manifest often violently and unpredictably, Sasuke has taught himself a master class in shame. For the sake of his own safety and the safety of others around him he chooses to view himself in terms of his utility – how can he aid in missions? what can he do to protect his village? – rather than in terms of his humanity. He is completely conscious of this and in near-constant combat with his own darker, rage-fueled inclinations, but this battle has left him unpracticed in expressing anything, even the positive. Sasuke also has a tendency to repress thoughts and memories of his past traumas, not only because they are painful but because they have the potential to compromise the efficiency he values so highly. To regularly acknowledge the full extent to which he has been wronged by a group of people he now seeks to protect – and that he in turn wronged in response – would only foster those negative emotions he keeps so tightly under wraps, and so he buries himself in his work and keeps his head down.
